Early detection, aggressive management of the underlying condition, surgical debridement, systemic and local antifungal treatments, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy significantly improve prognosis and survival rate [15]. The standard treatment for mucormycosis involves correcting diabetic ketoacidosis or other metabolic disturbances, daily irrigation and packing of the affected orbital and paranasal areas with amphotericin B, along with intravenous amphotericin B therapy [16].

In addition, one study explored the relationship between frailty and outcome in patients with cirrhosis, but it only demonstrated that frailty can predict liver transplant-free survival; the risk of other complications remains unknown [19]. There are still limited systematic reviews and meta-analyses on the prognostic value of frailty in patients with cirrhosis.

Innovations in prehospital care have led to improvement in patient outcomes over the past several decades, including a reduction in early deaths following traumatic injuries and improved survival from out-of-hospital cardiac arrest following early initiation of basic life support (BLS) procedures [1-5]. However, there remain significant challenges to providing high-quality prehospital emergency care, especially in resource-limited settings.

Immunotherapy offers substantial benefits in terms of precision, specificity, and long-term survival improvements, representing a significant breakthrough in cancer treatment [3].
Immunotherapy has made remarkable progress and demonstrated clinical value. However, there are drawbacks that may hinder its clinical use and acceptance by patients with cancer. One notable limitation is the variability in individuals’ responses to immunotherapy.

Diagnosis at an advanced stage and the aggressiveness of the disease result in a 5-year survival rate of between 20% and 40% [4]. In contrast, early-stage GC has an excellent prognosis, with a 5-year survival rate of greater than 90%, and can often be treated with minimally invasive and organ-sparing techniques such as endoscopic resection [5]. Therefore, early detection of cancer greatly increases the chances of successful treatment. The 2 components of cancer screening are early diagnosis and screening.

Survival After Radical Cystectomy for Bladder Cancer: Development of a Fair Machine Learning Model
While several predictive models have been developed to predict survival in patients with bladder cancer [10-12], the performance of these models among different population subgroups remains understudied. Predicting survival is an important component in counseling patients with bladder cancer given the relatively high mortality rates in this disease [13,14]. The use of a potentially unfair model may perpetuate and even exacerbate existing disparities for vulnerable patient populations.

Although general improvements in ICU outcomes and changes in ventilation practices over time would positively affect the model in the training process, the proposed BCQ model would automatically learn from the good practices and avoid bad practices to achieve the best long-term return, which is the survival of the patients.

The log-rank test is a significance test in survival analysis, with the null hypothesis that 2 groups have identical distributions of survival time. Any log-rank P value below .05 is considered statistically significant in these analyses. Feature importance was evaluated in the Cox-PH model by their HR P values. HR describes the relative contribution of a feature to the patient’s PI.

The adoption of such aggressive resections can potentially enhance the prospects of achieving negative resection margins, longer survival times, and even cure [5,9,10]. However, due to the increased surgical trauma, these interventions also introduce supplementary hazards that can compromise outcomes and diminish survival prospects [2,6,8].

Predicting Lung Cancer Survival to the Future: Population-Based Cancer Survival Modeling Study
We extrapolated the 1-year interval survival rate to the 2020 year of diagnosis (25 unshaded cells in Figure 1). In the cohort approach, the 5-year survival rate for calendar year 2025 is the 5-year survival rate for patients diagnosed in 2020.
The unit of analysis for this study. The values in the cells are the 1-year interval survival rates (%) of lung cancer in Taiwan (shaded cells: observed values and unshaded cells: projected values from the survivorship-period-cohort model).
