Previous empirical studies have focused on the correlation between reputation and price [15,23]. However, these studies investigated the online and offline reputations separately, thus not associating the combined offline reputation and online reputation with price. Given the multiple levels of data structure, in this study, hierarchical linear modeling (HLM) [25,26] was used to verify the relationships between online health care consulting prices and these determinants.

Cyberspace and Libel: A Dangerous Balance for Physicians
It is detrimental to a person’s reputation, personal or professional, and exposes them to public contempt or ridicule [1]. However, protection offered from the First Amendment has given the public a legal platform that facilitates discourse on current topics, on which ideas and opinions can be exchanged, and that offers protection against defamation in certain circumstances.

These include consumer ratings, government quality ratings (eg, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services [CMS] stars), reputation rankings, and average volumes and outcomes [5-17]. Machine learning–based online tools are emerging as an alternative method of predicting provider performance that can factor patient-specific characteristics into provider rankings [17,18].

Investigation of Radiation Oncologists’ Awareness of Online Reputation Management
The path to becoming a physician involves a decade-long investment in time and money, making a physician’s professional reputation one of the most valuable parts of their practice. Online reputation management (ORM) has been a growing activity in the last decade. The idea of ORM is to systematically monitor, analyze, and filter online media sources and even interact with consumers via online reviews.
