The Safety of Telerehabilitation: Systematic Review

The Safety of Telerehabilitation: Systematic Review

We excluded studies that (1) only provided home-based exercise programs without interactions from a therapist to adjust or monitor the exercise program and (2) were not written in English. Literature search strategies were developed by an experienced health sciences librarian with input from the investigators. Search terms included Me SH, EMTREE terms, American Psychological Association thesaurus terms, and CINAHL headings, and text words related to telerehabilitation and adverse events.

The Effect of a Remote Network Technology Supervised Exercise Program Combined With Drug Treatment for Fibromyalgia: Randomized, Single-Blind, Controlled Trial

Additionally, group physical exercise has gained attention for its potential to enhance patient compliance and outcomes. Participating in group activities fosters social support, motivation, and accountability, which are critical for maintaining long-term adherence to exercise programs. Several studies have demonstrated that group-based interventions improve adherence rates and overall treatment efficacy compared to individual exercise regimens [10].

Effectiveness of Walking Prescription Using Mobile Health Technology on the Changes in Daily Steps in Older Adults With Cognitive Impairment: Randomized Controlled Study

Therefore, clinical experts have advised older people to exercise regularly and continuously. Unfortunately, the number of people doing exercise decreases as they get older due to their declined physical ability, lack of knowledge of age-appropriate exercise, false belief that exercise can cause injury, and psychosocial prejudice that older adults should behave carefully and calmly [6].

Wearable-Enhanced mHealth Intervention to Promote Physical Activity in Manual Wheelchair Users: Single-Group Pre-Post Feasibility Study

Wearable-Enhanced mHealth Intervention to Promote Physical Activity in Manual Wheelchair Users: Single-Group Pre-Post Feasibility Study

For the moderate to vigorous exercise time, the app first calculates the mean absolute deviation from the accelerometer data of the current minute and then applies the thresholds established by Shwetar et al [29] to classify the activity intensity into sedentary, light, or MVPA. The accumulated MVPA minutes are shown as moderate to vigorous exercise time.

The Impact of Digital Technology–Based Exercise Combined With Dietary Intervention on Body Composition in College Students With Obesity: Prospective Study

Following a face-to-face meeting, the establishment of a We Chat group, and baseline assessments, participants voluntarily chose to join 1 of 3 intervention groups: TWF+exercise (51/129, 39.5%), LCD+exercise (45/129, 34.9%), or TRF+exercise (33/129, 25.6%). Factors Related to Pain and Disability Outcomes After an Internet-Delivered or Physiotherapist-Led Exercise Program for Individuals With Chronic Whiplash Symptoms: Secondary Analysis of a Randomized Controlled Study

Factors Related to Pain and Disability Outcomes After an Internet-Delivered or Physiotherapist-Led Exercise Program for Individuals With Chronic Whiplash Symptoms: Secondary Analysis of a Randomized Controlled Study

Although the evidence is moderate at best, exercise and patient education are recommended treatments in chronic WAD [7]. Approximately 50% of the included participants in a neck-specific exercise program, conducted by 2 of the authors in this study (GP and AP), with chronic WAD grades II (neck pain and musculoskeletal findings during a physical examination) and III (as grade II but with additional neurological findings) had a sustained clinically important change in pain and disability [8,9].

An Exergames Program for Adolescents With Type 1 Diabetes: Qualitative Study of Acceptability

An Exergames Program for Adolescents With Type 1 Diabetes: Qualitative Study of Acceptability

I feel like when I exercise my blood sugars are more stable throughout the day, so exercise usually is a part of my daily routine. Almost all participants said that an external barrier to being physically active was having other priorities like work, school, extracurricular activities, and other obligations like taking care of younger siblings or house chores. Many of the participants mentioned having unstable glucose levels and other medical conditions (such as asthma) as internal barriers to PA.
