The epidemiological questionnaire included information on sociodemographic characteristics (registered sex, age, nationality, education, employment status, and job sector), health-related characteristics (self-reported height, weight, smoking habit, health status, chronic conditions, and officially recognized disability, that is, having received a certificate of any degree of disability—physical, sensory, intellectual, or mental disability—after evaluation by the technical teams of the corresponding regional

Evidence from the evaluation of this initiative identified an increase in the number of referrals and attendance of patients for diabetic retinopathy screening with the change in knowledge and referral mechanism [3].
However, providing referrals does not mean the care is complete. Follow-up for eye care services for children, especially in the context of Nepal, is essential for ensuring a continuum of care [4].

In medical and psychological research, generating valid study results by collecting data from large representative samples is essential [13]. For many research teams, recruiting the number of participants needed on time and within budget limitations becomes a major challenge [14]. Over 80% of trials worldwide fail to complete patient recruitment within the initially planned time frame, with insufficient case numbers being the primary reason for discontinuing 55% of all studies [15].

Patients in the intervention group filled in the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) before starting the intervention to determine whether they could safely perform physical activity [16,17]. Patients who were scheduled to receive instructions on increasing physical activity and muscle strengthening through the app were contacted by a member of the research team when answering yes to one or more questions in the PAR-Q.

Vulnerable populations, such as individuals with schizophrenia, require additional research protections to ensure their privacy and security [43].
A cross-cultural psychological assessment focuses on understanding how a client’s cultural background influences their behavior, emotional state, and psychological needs. A recent review of 2248 studies found that only 57 specifically targeted migrants, refugees, or cultural minorities [58].

This approach offers comprehensive risk evaluation, adaptability to new data, and the potential to uncover novel risk factors and disease mechanisms [11].
Several studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of ML models in deriving quantitative markers for coronary artery disease and predicting the presence of heart disease.

Because of the different modes of administration of these treatments, each group receives both an injection and oral tablets. The study therefore comprises three arms: (1) a “toxin” group treated with an injection of botulinum toxin and placebo oral baclofen; (2) a “baclofen” group treated with oral baclofen and an injection of placebo botulinum toxin; and (3) a double “placebo” group treated with placebo oral baclofen and an injection of placebo botulinum toxin.

The Brazilian National Health Council (resolutions 466/12 [13] and 510/16 [14]) establishes that an ethics committee review is not required for studies whose sole objective is the evaluation of implementation processes or service improvement.
