The Effect of Young People–Assisted, Individualized, Motion-Based Video Games on Physical, Cognitive, and Social Frailty Among Community-Dwelling Older Adults With Frailty: Randomized Controlled Trial

The 18-week intervention program contained 12 exercise sessions, which were supervised by occupational therapists and included the assistance of youth volunteers. Prior to commencing the intervention, youth volunteers attended educational training about the study at the community center. The youth volunteers were individuals between the ages of 17 and 35 years who were unemployed and had an educational level of secondary 5 or above.

Effectiveness of One Videoconference-Based Exposure and Response Prevention Session at Home in Adjunction to Inpatient Treatment in Persons With Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder: Nonrandomized Study

Even with outpatient therapy close to the patient’s home, there is the challenge of therapists having to travel to the patient’s place, which is difficult to implement due to limited time resources of therapists. Therefore, patients often receive outpatient treatment that only includes a limited number of therapist-assisted exposure sessions, if any [22,28]. To achieve a better care situation for patients with OCD, there are 2 cost-effective ways of implementing therapist-guided home-based ERP.

Feasibility of Guided Internet-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Panic Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder in Japan: Pilot Single-Arm Trial

Feasibility of Guided Internet-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Panic Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder in Japan: Pilot Single-Arm Trial

The limited availability of CBT therapists and high implementation costs have been major obstacles significantly impacting the accessibility of CBT [6,7]. According to a 2018 report, the implementation rate of CBT in Japanese psychiatric clinics was 6.2% [7]. When CBT is applied, it is rarely based on an evidence-based cognitive behavioral model. In most CBT practices, therapists independently select and combine CBT techniques [7].

The Redesign and Validation of Multimodal Motion-Assisted Memory Desensitization and Reconsolidation Hardware and Software: Mixed Methods, Modified Delphi–Based Validation Study

This manuscript focuses solely on the hardware design and software development and validation, which are described in the following section, whereas the implementation of 3 MDR in community-based service contexts and training of 3 MDR therapists will be included in future publications and an upcoming 3 MDR training manual. The 3 MDR system requires the components described in Textbox 1. The 3 MDR system must have the characteristics described in Textbox 2.

Frequency and Correlates of Online Consultations With Doctors or Therapists in Middle-Aged and Older Adults: Nationally Representative Cross-sectional Study

It should be noted that the term doctor (arzt) in Germany refers to physicians, while the term therapists (therapeut) commonly refers to psychological or medical psychotherapists, as well as other therapists (eg, occupational therapists or physical therapists). According to the German Medical Association, the total number of currently working physicians (registered with state medical associations) was around 409,000 in 2020 [7].

Perception of Purposeful and Recreational Smartphone Use in Physiotherapy: Randomized Controlled Trial

Perception of Purposeful and Recreational Smartphone Use in Physiotherapy: Randomized Controlled Trial

In everyday life, smartphones accompany many patients and therapists in physiotherapy sessions. As in other situations, smartphones can offer opportunities for therapy [31-33], but at the same time, they can present risks. In physiotherapy, new exercises are often shown to build up muscles or train balance and body awareness. One technique that is often used to support such learning processes is learning through observing one’s own behavior or the behaviors of human role models [34-37].
