Patients’ and Health Care Professionals’ Expectations of Virtual Therapeutic Agents in Outpatient Aftercare: Qualitative Survey Study

In contrast with the recommendations set forth in the German S3 guideline for unipolar depression, it is observed that 90% of patients diagnosed with major depression do not receive sufficient outpatient aftercare following psychiatric hospitalization [2]. This elucidates the elevated risk of relapse and suicide during the initial year [3]. Patients with restricted access to social, economic, or structural resources are particularly susceptible to these risks [2].

Efficacy of eHealth Interventions for Hemodialysis Patients: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Similarly, another research conducted in Iran reported that a 1-month period of nurse-delivered tele-nursing significantly reduced the levels of anxiety and depression in HD patients [29]. However, a recent study evaluating the difference between an internet-based self-help intervention and usual care in improving anxiety, depression, and quality of life among HD patients revealed no significant difference in the clinical efficacy of both interventions [28].
