Process Re-Engineering and Data Integration Using Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources for the Multidisciplinary Treatment of Lung Cancer

During the coordination activity, MDT members had to repeatedly query and retrieve data from various HIS and EMR systems. These data were then compiled into Microsoft Word (Microsoft Corp) files containing diagnoses, radiology image reports, and pathological summaries, mostly in text format. During meetings, MDT members use their individual files and different information systems to present case details, which could lead to duplicate or inconsistent content among the different files.
