Using Patient-Generated Health Data From Twitter to Identify, Engage, and Recruit Cancer Survivors in Clinical Trials in Los Angeles County: Evaluation of a Feasibility Study

The goal of this pilot study is to examine the feasibility of using local user-reported data from cancer survivors and their family members and friends on the social network Twitter in Los Angeles (LA) County as a tool to enhance clinical trial recruitment at a comprehensive cancer center. According to the National Cancer Institute, “a person is considered a survivor from the time of diagnosis until the end of life” [14].
