Exploring Nurse and Patient Experiences of Developing Rapport During Oncology Ambulatory Care Videoconferencing Visits: Qualitative Descriptive Study

The patient[’s]…willing[ness] to engage as well and be open [is] encouraged by the nurse. Patients described how rapport and trust affect the sharing of information and build confidence. One patient explained: If I don't have a good relationship with somebody, I don't feel comfortable enough to trust them, to tell them things, be open and honest. Patients described having confidence in their care when they felt their nurse understood what was important to them.
