Investigating Reddit Data on Type 2 Diabetes Management During the COVID-19 Pandemic Using Latent Dirichlet Allocation Topic Modeling and Valence Aware Dictionary for Sentiment Reasoning Analysis: Content Analysis

Social media also serves as a public data source to gauge sentiment and topics of discussion during the initial lockdown period. The objectives of this study were to synthesize emerging themes from peer discussion on Reddit, a social media forum with dedicated communities for individuals coping with T2 D.

Managing Type 2 Diabetes During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Scoping Review and Qualitative Study Using Systematic Literature Review and Reddit

Valence scores of sentiment are calculated on both polarity (if the text is negative or positive) and intensity (how positive or negative a text is), with a normalized compound score, returned between –1 and +1. Thresholds for classifying a text as per VADER are as follows [16]: positive: compound score ≥+0.05; neutral: compound score between –0.05 and +0.05; and negative: compound score ≤–0.05.

An Actionable Expert-System Algorithm to Support Nurse-Led Cancer Survivorship Care: Algorithm Development Study

An Actionable Expert-System Algorithm to Support Nurse-Led Cancer Survivorship Care: Algorithm Development Study

Algorithm priorities were defined through a multidisciplinary consensus meeting with clinical nurse specialists, nurse scientists, nurse practitioners, urologic oncologists, urologists, and radiation oncologists (n=17). We presented content and structure in accordance with a modified protocol from a previous algorithm consensus meeting to develop a heart failure telemonitoring system, which we adapted to meet the specific care needs of the PCa survivorship population [20].

The Complexity of Transferring Remote Monitoring and Virtual Care Technology Between Countries: Lessons From an International Workshop

The Complexity of Transferring Remote Monitoring and Virtual Care Technology Between Countries: Lessons From an International Workshop

Symptom data is sent to a data repository within a secure, regional NHS environment, alongside the patient’s e-consent for secondary use of their symptom data for research (3). A visualization summarizes the symptom data graphically (4), which clinicians can access within their local electronic health record to discuss with patients as part of the consultation (5).

A Voice App Design for Heart Failure Self-management: Proof-of-Concept Implementation Study

A Voice App Design for Heart Failure Self-management: Proof-of-Concept Implementation Study

Given that the usability study took place in a controlled laboratory setting and focused on the voice app design, we sought to perform a proof-of-concept implementation study in the intended environment. The Medly voice app was used as a case study to investigate the broader application of voice apps for chronic disease management. The goal of this study was to determine whether voice apps can be a practical alternative for enabling patients to receive a digital therapeutic.

Design of a Patient Voice App Experience for Heart Failure Management: Usability Study

Design of a Patient Voice App Experience for Heart Failure Management: Usability Study

Guided by the findings from the literature review and coupled with a user-centered design (UCD) process, we sought to design, develop, and evaluate a voice app for the smartphone-based HF self-management program Medly to determine whether a voice app version adds benefit to the program’s current model of interaction and care.

Genomic Health Literacy Interventions in Pediatrics: Scoping Review

Genomic Health Literacy Interventions in Pediatrics: Scoping Review

A systematic review by Mc Gill et al [7] found that although children and adolescents in the general community may have a basic understanding of genetic concepts such as inheritance, they generally lack a deeper knowledge of concepts related to genetics and genetic testing. Although a high level of genomic health literacy is unlikely in children and adolescents, it may be valuable for young people who are affected or at risk of genetic conditions to have a general understanding of genomic concepts [7].
