Characteristics of Participants and Nonparticipants in a Blended Internet-Based Physical Activity Trial for Breast and Prostate Cancer Survivors: Cross-sectional Study

Respondents rated on a 0-10 response scale, how likely they thought it was that they would exercise when tired, in a bad mood, when feeling pressed for time, when on holiday, or with bad weather [24]. The overall self-efficacy score was obtained by calculating the average of all items, ranging from 0 to 10. A higher score indicates a stronger sense of self-efficacy. Cronbach α for this scale in our sample was .85.

eHealth for Breast Cancer Survivors: Use, Feasibility and Impact of an Interactive Portal

Current models of health care, with a focus on detection and treatment of acute disease, seem no longer sustainable given the increasing number of people with a chronic disease like cancer [3]. Additionally, the time of health professionals is limited and the costs involved in professional help are rising. A transition to patient-centered models of care in which cancer survivors play a more active role in their care process is needed.
