Middle-Aged Men With HIV Have Diminished Accelerometry-Based Activity Profiles Despite Similar Lab-Measured Gait Speed: Pilot Study

Middle-Aged Men With HIV Have Diminished Accelerometry-Based Activity Profiles Despite Similar Lab-Measured Gait Speed: Pilot Study

METs were calculated using a formula developed by Withings: 1+1/2×speed (km/h)+0.086×speed (km/h)×slope (in %) (Eva Roitmann, Withings, email communication; March 10, 2017 and March 28, 2018). The standardized 6-MWT [11] was administered at the study site by the same trained and experienced exercise physiologist as in this study. A comparison test was conducted between both measures, in which participants wore an activity tracker (Pulse Ox) to determine the gait speed using the formula indicated above.
