This is also reflected in our finding that physician recommendation was a common reason for trusting a website—if physicians did recommend specific websites, the recommendation(s) would likely influence patient behavior. Although most patients reported that their physician’s recommendation did not conflict with the information they found on the internet, nearly 1 in 4 patients reported at least occasional conflict.
