Development of a Mobile App to Support Head and Neck Cancer Caregiving: Mixed Methods Study

Development of a Mobile App to Support Head and Neck Cancer Caregiving: Mixed Methods Study

We selected a mixed methods approach to facilitate gathering the perspectives of three groups, including dietitians, survivors with HNC, and caregivers [46]. A mixed methods approach also allowed for a more comprehensive understanding of the unmet needs of caregivers of people with HNC to drive the selection of content in a supportive care app to address those needs. Our team included researchers with expertise and training in HNC, cancer survivorship, oncology caregiving, and mobile health.

Chatbot for the Return of Positive Genetic Screening Results for Hereditary Cancer Syndromes: Prompt Engineering Project

Chatbot for the Return of Positive Genetic Screening Results for Hereditary Cancer Syndromes: Prompt Engineering Project

Chatbots are a highly accessible and scalable platform that allows for simulated conversations. Accessible via the web through a hyperlink or downloadable app, chatbots can be used on a smartphone, tablet, or computer. The use of chatbots has also been shown to improve access to services and support health equity by providing personalized health education, being available in multiple languages, and offering continuous access to information [11-15].

Caregivers’ Perceptions of Clinical Symptoms, Disease Management, and Quality of Life Impact in Cases of Cyclin-Dependent Kinase-Like 5 Deficiency Disorder: Cross-Sectional Online Survey

However, CDD has a distinct genetic cause and symptom profile, as severe developmental delay is exhibited from birth and seizure onset occurs earlier, and it was thus established as a separate clinical condition in 2013 [3-5]. CDD is caused by pathogenic variants in the X-linked gene CDKL5, which plays a key role in normal brain development and function [6].

Information Needs for Opioid Use Disorder Treatment Using Buprenorphine Product: Qualitative Analysis of Suboxone-Focused Reddit Data

Information Needs for Opioid Use Disorder Treatment Using Buprenorphine Product: Qualitative Analysis of Suboxone-Focused Reddit Data

To develop a more comprehensive understanding of these challenges, it is essential to analyze posts that involve multiple, overlapping themes and reflect the complexity of real-world experiences. We address this research gap by proposing a theme-driven framework that provides a labeled dataset. A comprehensive analysis is performed on this dataset, covering multiple themes of TINs and capturing Reddit post data from thousands of affected individuals.

Developing Infrastructure to Realize the Value of Patient-Generated Health Data in a Large Integrated Health Care System: The Veterans Health Administration Experience

Developing Infrastructure to Realize the Value of Patient-Generated Health Data in a Large Integrated Health Care System: The Veterans Health Administration Experience

As the PGHD database evolves and lessons are learned from researchers, field testers, and pilot projects, the goal will be to integrate PGHD into fundamental clinical workflows and build a knowledge base for where integration provides the greatest value. Data collected in the PGHD database are guided by a series of VHA policy and strategy documents, the development of which was overseen by the Office of Connected Care [9].

Usage of a Multipurpose mHealth App Among Adults With Sickle Cell Disease: Randomized Controlled Trial

We conducted a feasibility randomized controlled trial to determine the acceptability of our m Health app [14]. A multipurpose m Health app can allow patients to monitor and track their pain, but additional features can increase app usage and engagement in their disease.

A Training Program to Support Patient Engagement in Primary Health Care Research: Co-Design, Implementation, and Evaluation Study

A Training Program to Support Patient Engagement in Primary Health Care Research: Co-Design, Implementation, and Evaluation Study

They engaged a significant number of patients, caregivers, and citizens to provide input at the needs assessment stage of the project. An additional patient partner was a member of the Advisory Committee. To ensure that the program addressed existing knowledge gaps regarding patient-oriented research, we completed a needs assessment in 2 main steps to determine the learning needs of the targeted groups.

Scaling a Brief Digital Well-Being Intervention (the Big Joy Project) and Sociodemographic Moderators: Single-Group Pre-Post Study

Scaling a Brief Digital Well-Being Intervention (the Big Joy Project) and Sociodemographic Moderators: Single-Group Pre-Post Study

In this paper, we test a brief, web-based well-being intervention, the Big Joy Project, on a large global sample to examine the impact of sociodemographic factors. Emotional well-being is a multidimensional composite that includes both the quality of momentary experiences and broader life judgments [7]. Emotional well-being is intimately associated with mental and physical health [4,5,11,12].

Piloting the Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) Pediatric Oncology Telehealth Education Program in Western Kenya: Implementation Study

Piloting the Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) Pediatric Oncology Telehealth Education Program in Western Kenya: Implementation Study

The ECHO programs use a telementoring approach for the education of clinicians in a hub-and-spoke model. Providers at spoke sites present cases, but no patients are ever on the network. Tele ECHO clinics typically convene twice monthly for 60‐75 minutes, during which case presentations, demonstrations, and didactics are provided and recorded for both synchronous and asynchronous observation. All knowledge is shared in a “learning loop” at no cost to participants [10,11].
