Jo PM’s early content was published on the Society of Participatory Medicine website, edited by Charlie Smith, Joe Graedon, and Terry Graedon, from 2009 to 2017. Authors included luminaries such as Esther Dyson, George Lundberg, Jessie Gruman, Kurt Stange, Kate Lorig, “e-patient Dave” De Bronkart, and many others. In 2017, Jo PM joined JMIR Publications as a peer-reviewed, open access journal to advance the science of participatory care (also referred to as coproduction and co-design).
