The amount sought was observed to be right-skewed and was therefore Box-Cox transformed prior to inclusion. The expected percentage change in the amount raised when a given feature was present was calculated by exponentiating the feature’s β coefficient.
We sought to characterize the donation patterns that underlie differences in fundraising. Because a campaign can increase the amount raised by increasing the number of donations or the mean donation amount, we modeled each of these outcomes separately.
