Treating Lower Phantom Limb Pain in the Postoperative Acute Care Setting Using Virtual Reality: Protocol for a 4-Phase Development and Feasibility Trial

Each participant tested the VR program in an intensive session (approximately 2.5 h in duration) at the NRC building in Winnipeg, Canada. Appointments were booked via phone following eligibility screening. Gift cards were given promptly following completion of the informed consent form. Before using the VR program, each participant completed a semistructured interview to collect baseline characteristics, including amputation etiology and pain history.
