JMIR Cancer Invites Submissions on Prostate Cancer
In support of Men’s Health Month and to highlight the research being done, JMIR Cancer is issuing a call for papers with a focus on foundational research, digital health innovations, and patient perspectives on prostate cancer.
JMIR Cancer is dedicated to publishing high-quality research on education, innovation, technology, and participatory approaches in oncology. Prostate cancer care relies heavily on shared decision-making, long-term monitoring, and survivorship management—areas positioned for technological and patient-centered advancements.
We invite researchers, urologists, oncologists, digital health developers, and patients and survivors to submit their work to our dedicated Prostate Cancer theme collection.
Topics of Interest
Example submission topics for this call for papers include the following:
- Digital Health and mHealth: Mobile apps for tracking prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels, managing side effects of androgen deprivation therapy, or supporting recovery postprostatectomy.
- Teleoncology and Remote Monitoring: The efficacy of telehealth in active surveillance, follow-up care, and remote patient monitoring.
- Education, Support, and Decision Aids: Novel digital decision aids for localized prostate cancer treatment options, virtual reality training for surgical interventions, or online support networks for men and their families.
- AI and Machine Learning: Innovations in predictive modeling, risk stratification, magnetic resonance imaging/biopsy image analysis, and personalized treatment planning.
- Noninternet Approaches: Innovative offline strategies, community outreach tools, and participatory programs designed to improve prostate cancer research, awareness, and care delivery.

- Nonconventional articles (eg, open patient education materials or evaluated software resources that are freely available for implementation).
Special Invitation: The Patients’ Corner
At JMIR Cancer, we believe that patients’ voices are essential to advancing oncology research and care. As part of this call for papers, we encourage patients with prostate cancer, previvors, and survivors to submit to our Patients’ Corner section.
We welcome original viewpoints and personal narratives detailing individual experiences with therapeutic regimens, navigation across health care systems, experience using digital health tools (including teleoncology solutions and mobile apps), and constructive perspectives on how prostate cancer clinical workflows and patient care can be enhanced.
Submissions to the Patients’ Corner are exempt from article processing fees (APFs). We are committed to making it as easy as possible for patients to share their invaluable perspectives with our global readership of researchers and clinicians.

Submission Guidelines
All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process, and accepted articles will be published as part of the “Prostate Cancer” e-collection.
All peer-reviewed articles will be published with immediate, unrestricted open access. Authors choosing the preprint pathway at submission will have their work accessible right away in JMIR Preprints alongside a dedicated DOI.
